Nutritional Supplement for Heart Health & Natural Cholesterol Management

Psyllium | Niacin | Concentrated Omega-3

Psyllium

Whole Psyllium Husk

Psyllium Supplement
  • 100% Natural, Minimally Processed
  • Gluten Free

Viscous soluble fiber (VSF) is an important nutrient in natural cholesterol management. VSF is the heart health fiber found in oatmeal, beans, barley and certain fruits. How much VSF do you need?

The National Cholesterol Education Program recommends at least 10 grams per day. Up to 25 grams may be needed to maximize results. Getting the targeted amounts can be a daily challenge. One 40 gram serving of oatmeal, for instance, delivers only 2 grams of VSF.

Psyllium seed husks help make achieving these targets easier. Psyllium husks offer the most concentrated source of VSF, naturally. They are about 60% viscous soluble fiber. A teaspoon contains 3 grams of VSF. Work toward increasing your daily consumption to at least 3 teaspoons. Now, add the whole grains, beans, vegetables or fruits associated with a healthy diet, and you will exceed the natural cholesterol management targets for VSF.

Niacin

Niacin-100mg/Tablet-100 Tablets

Niacin Supplement
  • Immediate Release Nicotinic Acid
  • Vegetarian Tablets
  • Potency & Purity Guaranteed
  • No Artificial Colors, Flavors or Preservatives

Also known as Vitamin B3, niacin is required for most cellular processes. It also helps convert food into energy, build red blood cell count, and synthesizes hormones. To prevent niacin deficiency, the U.S. government recommends a daily intake of 19mg of niacin for adult men and 13 mg for adult women.

At doses of 100mg/day, research indicates that niacin from nicotinic acid can raise good HDL cholesterol. At 500 milligrams per day, this form of niacin has been shown to increase HDL cholesterol by an average of 10%. At higher levels, niacin from nicotinic acid can achieve additional increases in HDL levels and reductions in LDL levels.*

Alert: An uncomfortable flush may occur when taking niacin from nicotinic acid. For some, this flush can even occur at the 50-100mg level. The flush can be accompanied by an intense feeling of heat, tingling and itching. It can start a few minutes or a few hours after taking niacin. Once flushing begins, it typically subsides within 30 minutes.

For many, flushing can be managed by gradually increasing the levels of nicotinic acid. You can try starting at 50mg with lunch and dinner. As your body grows accustomed to these levels, you can try raising your niacin intake with these meals. You might also try taking before bed.

Concentrated Omega-3

Omega-3 – 600mg/capsule (1200mgs Fish Oil) -60 capsules.

Omega-3 Supplement
  • Molecularly Distilled
  • Tested for Pesticides, PCBs & Heavy Metals
  • Natural Orange Flavor

The American College of Cardiology Foundation recommends 1-2 g per day of Omega-3 from fish or fish oil supplements. The NIH’s National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) considers Omega-3s useful in promotion cardiovascular health, but does not yet make a daily intake recommendation.

Omega-3s appear to play an important role in reducing arterial inflammation that leads to plaque. Where inflammation occurs, LDL cholesterol adheres to the inner lining of the blood vessel, eventually forming plaque. Simply stated, LDLs are part of the materials that make up plaque. If arterial inflammation is reduced, then less LDL cholesterol will be deposited.

Researchers also are exploring the effects of sub-categories of LDLs & HDLs, and preliminary research suggests that Omega-3s may have a positive influence on the make-up of cholesterol.
